Buckwheat Burger Tikki

Super healthy main course option.


  • 1 cup-soaked Buckwheat
  • 1 big onion
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1 cup blanched spinach
  • 2 tbsn walnut powder
  • Dried herbs as per taste
  • Salt as per taste
  • 2-3 tbsn of oil
  • Stock water (To cook buckwheat)
  • Chickpea/Quinoa flour (As per requirement)

Recipe Preparation

  • Let Buckwheat soak well for about 6-8 hours, then rinsed and strained before use.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and sauté the buckwheat for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent sticking and burning.
  • Add onions & mushrooms.
  • Pour in stock water & let it cook for 20 mins.
  • Keep ready walnut powder and blanch finely chopped spinach.
  • When buckwheat is cooked, remove pan from heat and let it cool slightly. Stir in walnuts and spinach and mix in the herbs.
  • Add chickpeas/quinoa flour and mix it well.
  • Seasoning to taste.
  • Make Tikki out of the same and bake it or grill it with very little oil on a pan.
  • Serve with side dish to salad, as a burger Tikki or have it just like that.
